Social time

Sometimes people wonder just what do we do all day?  There are times when it seems to us that there isn't enough time in the day to do it all!  No matter what exactly it is we that do... fixing things, exercising, swimming, catching dinner, cooking dinner, eating dinner, it is usually a combination of work and play.

It turns out that we certainly have a lot more time to socialize with friends, usually over the latest culinary creations.

One of the inevitable aspects of meeting cruising friends is that there eventually comes a time when you have to say farewell.  It is a hard reality when you realize that you may never see each other again.

We recently had to say a sad goodbye to Mark and Liesbet on Irie.  After meeting in Grenada, we had spent a lot of time with them over good food and company since they arrived in Panama last year.

When you have common interests, plus the luxury of plenty of social time, you begin to share things like:

... recipes (certain cooks have serious skills)...

...sweat equity (as in before & after yoga

...and good taste in clothes (we didn't even call to coordinate)

...not to mention endless boat and technology discussions!

Now Mark & Liesbet are looking for new adventures in the Pacific and are getting ready to transit through the Canal, as many others have done recently.  This is the perfect place and time to do it, but we're not ready to leave the Caribbean yet.

Celebrating our time together, we toasted each other's new adventures in-style & with a conch horn send-off, we wish you fair winds amigos!
