Next Stop

Next stop, Florida.  We arrived here during the hottest month of summer to a heavy downpour of the daily, late afternoon thunderstorm.  Witnessing bright, crashing bolts of lightning and the constant rumble of thunder, we felt right at home.

We stayed with Chuck and Cathy in their newly finished house, re-modeled to accommodate the organ and all.  The design of the room was creative and surprisingly sound-proof, with the speakers built-in along the ceiling.  This visit coincided with the London Olympics and we all had fun watching the international competitions after a good home-cooked meal.  We also had a cool visit with Spencer, Rachel & Sebastian and snuck in a much-needed sushi fix.

New Smyrna Beach is located on a familiar spot on the Intracoastal Waterway (ICW).  When we were last here on Reach, we saw some amazing sunrises over the beaches.  We revisited the NSB Yacht Club, which also made us feel right at home on the waterfront, admiring pretty boats and sharing interests with other boaters.  Tall tales and shark stories included!

There was also time for some shopping ~ one can never have too many bathing suits ~  including a new computer for Chuck!  Michele continued to keep up her yoga practice, so the travel yoga mat was put to good use, and Cathy was more than game to try out a few new classes.
