View from the bridge

The bridge in Rio Dulce is a main connector road traveled by vehicles of all shapes and sizes.  Huge delivery trucks, cars, tuk-tuks and mopeds zip up and down the ~95 foot high rise.

Without fail, vehicles and people are always stopped at the top as an overlook to breathe in the fresh air, take in scenic views and perhaps pose for a picture.

Vendors are even there to serve treats.

Taking a stroll along the bridge one day, a couple of four legged pedestrians also decided to check out the views.

On a typical sunny day, one thing that is much needed is shade, whether a hat or bridge-compatable canopy!

Looking downstream you can see the river as it connects to el Golfete and eventually to the Caribbean sea.

Around bird-island in the middle, there are always fisherman hand-lining in the swirly currents.

Up-river the water squeezes past the San Felipe Fort and opens into Lake Izabal.  Continuing over the bridge is the bustling town of Fronteras.  A bay in the town front hosts an anchorage and nearby marinas, where friends' boats are located.

Back from the way I came is a view of "Shell-Bay", named for the Shell gas station landmark.  This bay holds several good sized marinas, including RAM Marina where Reach is now located on the hard at the far right.

Under this side of the bridge is the small village of El Relleno, reminding us that it is almost Christmastime.
