Birds and monkeys are not alone here in the jungle. Wherever you look nature is there to fascinate. The more time spent "out there", patterns start to emerge and one can start to notice more and more.
Thaos swallowtail butterfly
Ghost crab
The elusive "Boat dog"
I even realized that specific types of birds ~ tanagers, trogons, honeycreepers, hawks, for example ~ have certain zones that are consistent from previous years of walking this same area.
Blue-gray tanagers
Slaty-tailed trogons ~ male & female
Mangrove black hawk
This happens on the reefs as well, where you start to see familiar fishy friends hiding in the same holes and species favoring a type of terrain. Another pattern is seasonal, where certain times of year you might see lots of new babies, migratory birds & butterflies.
