A Lagoon with a View

For our third anchorage in the past two months here, we ventured up to the lovely lagoon in the Central Hollandes.  We can't help but laugh at how slowly we've been moving recently - okay, you could classify us as stationary at this point!

This is one of our favorite spots in Kuna Yala, tucked behind the outer reef with a cool breeze surrounded by patches of reef and sand...

We're bug-free, have a shady yoga spot on the beach, the snorkeling is diverse, the shallows are perfect for kayaking, the fishing is great, and the company is even better.

On Semana Santa (Easter) weekend, Panamanian tourists made the trek to Kuna Yala to wade in the natural piscina (pool) in front of Reach.

The only downside may be the frequent shark sightings, depending upon your point of view, above or below water-level.  On the up-side, there are also rays jumping around and interesting sea creatures posing for their photographs.  We've been trading cameras for various trials and Gretchen caught amazing detail in this bearded fireworm (bristleworm) with the Panasonic TS3, a camera that is winning favor by all who try it out.

We continue to eat well, whether using fresh herbs from our own "gardens" or the occasional veggie-boat.  We even splurged and bought a chicken the other day which made for a great roast, plus leftovers.  Mark is just as scary with a cleaver as he is with a speargun...
