Stunning

We've been in the water virtually every day during the past few weeks before our upcoming departure for Providencia, Columbia.  There is always something new, interesting or picturesque to see, whether swimming in the grasses around our boat, seeking out shallow reefs behind the islands or diving on the walls of barrier reefs.

Mark told me about a reef that he considered one of the prettiest in this area, so I had to check it out.

There are towering "knome houses" of all different colors that were stunning, despite the gray weather of late.

It was fun swimming with Mark again, since we usually head to different underwater grounds for fishing versus scenery.  I returned to this reef on different occasions with Gretchen (Infinity) and Alan & Liz (Kokopelli).

Gretchen also brought her camera and found a sponge hole in which to take some creative shots.

A curious sight was observed on a trunkfish swimming past with his parasitic remora.

His color was darkened and had several criss-crossing scratches all over.  It wasn't clear if the remora caused this or whether it was due to some other kind of injury.

A sleeping nurse shark was undisturbed by our presence, while a small reef shark cruised by to satisfy his curiosity.
